tattoo schools

OK I went to google and did a search for tattoo schools...came up with DOZENS of hits....after looking at about 30 sites and when I did see any tattoos they were fuckin HORRIBLE I think I learned everything I need to know!! Learn to tattoo in 2 weeks?.....Imfuckingpossible!!! Learn by video?...No WAY!!! And All these so called schools were run by self proclaimed experts that no body has ever heard of...You'd think that after 3 decades in the biz that I would at least have HEARD of ONE of these people!!...NOPE!!! I would LOVE for somebody to prove me wrong! Bring it ON!!!...............................TAz My God people I LOVE to see new talent get into the biz...LOVE IT!! But it just ain't gonna happen this way!...Hell for 6 grand I not only will teach ya to tattoo..I'll give ya one of the Tazettes to take home with ya at no charge!!!...You will probably send her back REAL quick tho!...They are HIGH maintenance!! I'll even throw in nekkid pics of Krystoff!!!..Now THOSE are keepers!!

Why a few talented artists start a true tattoo school instead of letting these no name idiots put up schools all across the country. If apprentice to bes out there had the op[tion I'm sure they would choose a good school real fast over the rest of these half assed jobs. Tattooing is growing and advancing and like most other industries will eventually lean far from apprenticeship. Or at lease thats how its worked for alot of fields.

Well no...how about this ...they find a shop thats taking on apprentices...Thats an idea! But I know what you are saying and you are probably right but what talented artist has the time for teaching in a school setting? TAz

Ok, devils advocate for a moment...how about a School/shop in a high traffic area with a rotating who's who of tattooing elite made up of a few retired or semi retired big shots for the theory courses like Rollo Banks, Lyle Tuttle, etc. and a parade of high end visiting guest artists at the stations...no station fees and the artist in question keeps 90+ percent of the tattoo $...Hell, I'd pay the bucks to hang with Malone and clean Garvers dirty tubes...Wait, that doesn't sound quite right...you know what I'm trying to say... Maybe one would have to prove an affiliation with an established shop and/or pass some kind of an entrance exam to qualify for admission or pay twice the fee or whatever up front. If the price was high enough I'm sure one wouldn't have to worry about scratchers...they can't scrape together the bucks for an autoclave and spore testing for crissakes...what are the chances they could fork over $20,000 for a course where they might not even tattoo anything? I know the training seminars at shows already fill this role to a certain degree, just playing with the idea of if there were a proper school what would it resemble...

i really like where the tattoo school graduate stated in an earlier and different post that they did 30 tattoos before they left the school. 30 tattoos!!! i dont know about you guys or most artists but doing 30 tattoos isnt even breaking the ice. i know every artist and their abilities vary but i hightly doubt most artists where doing quality tattooing after 30 tattoos? theres so many different areas of the body that need to be approached in a different manner and so many different types of art and styles that are approached differently when being tattooed that doing 30 tattoos is like a drop of water in one of those huge waste dumpsters when it comes to experience.

Hmmm, a studio with a regular rotation of super talented rotating guests artists that end up helping out the full time guys... thats a good idea... :-) Now if only we could find a nice laid back town and wrangle up a high traffic website...
