Tattoo Wars tonight!

So folks, Tattoo Wars will debut tonight with Mike Rubendall (who has a portfolio on this site) and Bugs will be "waring". I am hoping its good, every single artist the TV show has filmed so far is top notch.
What time...TLC right?
8 pm EST right now gabe and i think its worth watching so far -mrs ripley
I saw it and it was just ok. Not impressed at all with the show or the pieces although although it was fun to watch. However "Nikko and Steven Morris", "G.Atchison vs. A Cain", D.Cook vs. T. Renshaw" should be a must watch. The narrator was pretty neutral, which in a way was good but I felt that the whole talking lacked of excitement.
and I personally like Bug's pieces better I thought it was more artisic and creative.. I was not to crazy with drape over the head of Mike's piece nor the shading on the piece.
excitement? what like boob jobs and vasectomies? i'll let gabe answer this since thats kinda his job and i am a teacher so i need to go to bed it late but come on you needed more excitement? -mrs ripley
I thought the narration was pretty lame, but I was very happy with how little they interjected. It was awesome to see them take such a long time with the backstory for each artist, as well as show the process that each artist takes with their clients. Was it perfect? no, but I thought that the number of awesome tattoos that got screen time as well as how well the artists were portrayed was great. It surprised me with how much I enjoyed the show, I forgive the imperfections easily when looking at such quality work for so long. It is also great to see two artists who really deserve attention get it. For the first episode, Im very hopeful for the future. I enjoyed it 200% more than the other TV shows (I didnt fall asleep once!).
This was the first tattoo-related show I watched without cringing all the way through.. (I'm not a tattoo artist, but I do art, and I think I appreciated it for that factor) I know lots of people who like the other shows, but it doesn't motivate them to think about the QUALITY of their art.... I think this one will. They didn't make the "wars" get cheesy or give a bunch of fake off-topic "drama" either, which is what I can't stand Sure, the network is just motivated by being able to market it to a different audience (likely older, more educated.. [they made sure to say "so and so is a real estate broker, so and so is a psychotherapist"] more appreciative of art... maybe they also care about attracting actual artists and those very appreciative of tattoo artistry in general..... but I think it turned out well. I can't wait for Cain vs. Aitchison.... wow.
No disrespect, but I personally think Aaron's work is the finalized art sketch (comic-like) & Guy's work is the polished finished product.
Yeah no doubt the show was 200% better than Miami Stink and the others. I just expected more. I really like the showcase of the whole process and how this show was drama free. Real tattooing, real vibe. I can't wait to peep the other shows. The narration could have fit better the subject. Maybe letting a pro do that part. Ex; Bob Tyrrell, Paul Booth. But again it was less intimidating this for the general public.
I liked the show..It was much better then the usual show's they do about tattoos. And even though i don't like Bug's style,i thought his tattoo was more creative..I think he would have beat Mike,if it wasn't being judged in NY.
I really enjoyed it. No drama. I liked Bug's tattoo best, but I can see why Mikes won. I cannot wait for the the next one. You can also get auto email reminders of the show from the "Discovery Channel" aka TLC. I likey!
Both great artists, but Bugs only lost because it was judged in New York.
The thing about this show is there's always gonna be disagreements about who really should have one, but the fact of the matter is these are all A-list artists. Even the people who "loose" bang out an amazing fucking piece of work regardless. Like you guys said if it was in a different state Bugs might have taken it. If it was just a different day of the week, he might have taken it. At least the work is top notch, and not like some other crap the comes out of other tattoo shows.
