Tattooing around the Naval

7 messages · last activity 4/21/2006

I want to get a tattoo around my naval. I want to know if it is painful in that area to have a tattoo done. I can tolerate some pain but If its very painful that maybe another thing. Any thoughts on this?
My thought is, get it where you want it. The pain is really nothing. You are gonna have it forever. Maybe it will hurt a little, but you wear it for good, so go with what you like.
you'll be fine, just try to relax(easier said than done) and not jump around. have fun too, people seem to forget that part more and more.
The investment of the pain that you'll feel for the moment is well worht the enjoyment of the tattoo you'll feel for the rest of your life. Go for it!
Tattoos on the stomache are a bit more sensitive than in other spots, but there are worse places to be inked, if you truly want the piece, then I am sure you can handle it. Bear in mind that some people have a higher threshold for pain than others, and if this area proves to be too painfull for you to sit through it completely, TELL THE ARTIST, and discuss with him/her the possability of completing the piece in different sessions, unless your tattooist is only in the business for money, he will be patient and work with you.
I have a scarab on my stomach. I found that the crease on my stomach was the most sensitive, and the claws that go inside my naval hurt more than usual, but like others said, it's fleeting, you have the art forever. I'd do it again...
I have almost every part of my body tattooed, On my stomach I have a burnig lotus from my panty line to my sternum one of the petals of the lotus goes inside my belly button, and I wont lie it hurt, but I sat there and took it. I don't think it hurt bad around the belly button, but inside was more sensitive, I guess its all in how bad you want it, I mean it won't hurt 4ever
