I don't know if anyone saw Ancient ink a little while back, but there was this Moron named Luna Cobra injecting blue tattoo ink then UV inks into this kids eyes with a syringe. This practitioner of the moronic arts goes on to say ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN! he could flinch, go blind, have horrible reactions and still
this LUNA COBRA character proceeds to do it anyway. WTF!!! Talk about giving people more stupid ideas. My favorite part is when they say he's been doing it for 12 years which makes him a pro. Reminds me of a SEINFELD episode when Jerry says.. He's not a Doctor, but plays one in real life..lol This is just the type of bad promotion we don't need as a tattoo community that's already infested with tweek ass scratchers.
What do you guys think of this practice of injecting tattoo ink into your eyes with a syringe? Is Luna Cobra a pro?
TATTOOING YER EYES? BAD SHIT LUNA COBRA!

howie is amazing.... and he does actually have a pretty extensive medical background. i'd trust the guy with my eyes.
As a client and friend of Howie i can completely tell you what a great person and PROFESSIONAL artist he is. The people who agreed to the tattoo understood the risk involved. Howie continues to break new grounds fully knowing the risk involved. There are many people who say we NEED people like him instead of banishing them.
Just a thought.
You are the moron who looks down on genius... every time someone breaks new ground in this world there is going to be an unimaginative naysayer who balks at it. Michaelangelo carved the madonna at 17. Is your little mind going to say he was not a pro?
You are an ass. I have had heaps of work done and looked over by Howie and have never had a problem whatsoever. If it weren't for where I work I would gladly let him tattoo my eyes. I have complete faith and trust in Howie and would jump at any given opportunity to go under a gun, should I say needle in this case (or the scalple for that matter) held by him.
I'm with you 64. you guys are idiots.
I just think despite his medical background/professionalism this just isn't a great idea. Whether you have a medical background or not, you can't possible forecast the side effects this could have on your eyes.
I think saying it's "ground breaking" is giving it to much credit. Sure it's something no one's done, and sure, it sort of worked, but in my opinion making poor decisions and putting your health at risk to try out something outlandish just to be the first to do it is irresponsible.
But ya know everyone has their opinions and for every ridiculous unsafe idea there's going to be a reckless person willing to try it out, so in that case I suppose you reap what you sow.
SERIOUSLY?
Ive actually met and been worked on by this Lunacobra "moron", as you call him. I found him to be professional, knowledgable, very capable and good at what he does. He's also quite a cool character, and seems a nice guy, which I find fairly important in a body modification artist.
I also happen to have met one of his victims, a man whose eyeball is fluorescent green. He, strangely enough, appears to be very NOT blind, dead or any other crazy shit like that. Did you actually bother to follow up the eyeball tattoo before you carried on like a fucking girl about it?
And lastly, people do have free will. Said "moron" isn't exactly going around forcibly tattooing peoples eyeballs. These are willing participants who, no doubt, have had the procedure and any associated risks explained to them beforehand. Maybe they just felt like pushing the boundaries?
I have seen some pictures from Lunacobra and at times you can clearly see infection at the suture sites. Yes, this is at your own risk but can this guy prescribe some antibiotics prior to the procedure ? Clearly no. It seems to me that he is playing with his clients health. Injecting eyeballs...come on. Some of his clients clearly do not properly judge the risks involved here. Probably, most of his procedures unfold normally, without any complications. But the risk of a serious infection is omnipresent. I was looking at what he does and even us, nurses do not have any rights in doing such procedures (cutting open a pt's skin, doing sutures, removing cartilage). He is playing with fire, but most importantly he is playing with his pt's lives. And let's add, politely, that he is far from being a tattoo artist. - moth
The fact that anyone wants to have a needle in their eye in the first place is just bizzare.Fair play to the guy for trying new stuff.. but the eye....god no...
Just my view, ;) (no pun intended)
In response to the "the guy isn't blind or dead" comment, your opinion is also a bit skewed. For one, we have no idea what the long term effects of having pigment in the eye could be. Not to mention can you fucking imagine if someone had an allergic reaction in their fuckin eye. That shit stays as long as the ink done and I can only imagine how amazing it would be to live with that, or figure out how to do laser tattoo removal on your eye.
Like I said, it is obviously at the clients risk, but I think it's a foolish idea.
i think the dude is probably good at what he does but how many people have seen somebody with eyeball tattoos....i havent....ever....what im saying is while he may have 12 years of experience..i doubt hes been doing only eyeball tattoos....so while maybe he has done 50 maybe in the past few years that body modification has blown up....this sort of practice doesnt have the years behind it to truely be able to say what the consequences are.....a lot of new school cats get shit from traditional guys because of a questionable lifespan of a tattoo...but at least there are thousands of years in their practice backing their argement.... and at least it wont fuck with your vision(maybe)...if you are too stubborn to see that this is a skeptical process then you are probably blind already........and do we all have to try so hard to freak each other out all the freakin time
I think Maybruck brings up the real issue here. When it comes to things like injecting a substance into an eyeball, should some guy with no degree or real medical training or knowledge of biochemistry, etc. be the first to try it? Is this really how we push the boundries? I have always put piercing and other mods in a different category than tattooing. To me, while you may consider it expression, I do not consider it an art form. it may be able to be done artistically, but is it really dynamic enough to be in the same realm as fine art and tattooing? I say no. And people that do this shit are generally just starved for attention. A tattoo collection is (or should be) a personal fine art collection on your body a peircing is just a fashion accessory...
Howie is an incredibly talented body modifyer. If he didn't know what he was doing, he would surely not be doing it.
Quit being so quick to judge.
No matter what ones personal opinion is this is very bad for the tattoo industry. Crossing a fine line of scope of practice and classification for tattooing to medical procedure. If a problem with this at a later date the medical community and legislators could come crashing down on the tattoo industry. When injecting in the eye you are doing surgery. Like it or not it is fact.
i bet this shit makes ppl go blind in the future. is nothing sacred?
i guess not.
