Tattoonow sucks

You guys really suck every forum that I have put up everyone that has replyed has been a dick. I know that I might not know everything about tattooing but cut me some slack I'm only 15. I have been into tattooing for about 3 or 4 years and have been asking for advice and I havent gotten none that has been any good, just smart ass remarks. So once again This site sucks
first off ill tell you EXACTLY what i would tell my 16 year old son.SETTLE THE FUCK DOWN AND FUCKING LISTENT HERE. but seeing as how ya aint my kid here we go.first off your being totaly out of line here you have NO FUCKING CLUE about tattoo or the RESPECT that is involved in it.youve asked a few questions and have recived a few answers. this is the slow time of the year posting is fairly slow all over.so in answer on your portfolio draw draw draw and draw more. draw what YOU feel is strong for you your still young.so you have time as far as machines and such your best to wait on that this is in no way a buiss you just jump into.seek out a reputabile tattoo shop take some of your BEST in and ask them for some honest crituqe.beware there are folks out there that are just flat rude.get used to it.after that and you feel comfartable enough to go back and get more critique on said work if the artist is interested in offering you a apprentice position then ask.you may or may not get one.and with a shitty attitude like this you wont.go to conventions around your area keep your mouth shut and watch look and listen! read study finish school take art classes in school draw your ass off draw untuil your hands cramp up and you fall asllep with pen and pad in hand.start paying your dues and buddy you got a huge tab to pay starting off like this.when you say this sight sucks then you are saying all of us that ARE TATTOO ARTIST suck also.your young yeah so what if youve been interested for the last 3 or 4 years.prove it not to me but to yourself and set goals meet those goals.be humble and keep your mouth shut and listen to what artist are saying providing that it is constructive. there a ohnest and forward answer if ya have any other questions ask ill be happy to answe them
If you don't like it that much, than be on your way if you have it all figured out. You see, you're acting just like every other jerk who not only wants all the information on how to tattoo handed to them without proving themselves, but you also EXPECT it as if you should get special treatment or something. I've already mentioned seeking an apprenticeship when you're older (many shops won't even allow anyone under 18 in the door due to the LAW) but until then, as mentioned by another poster, DRAW, DRAW, DRAW! In the meantime while your still in school, explore anatomy, physiology and take some classes at your local Red Cross in CPR, Bloodbourne Pathogen Training, and First Aid, to begin with. Stop EXPECTING people to guide you to your tattoo dreams on the internet. This is the best advice I can think of but if you're too impatient and decide that you don't need this because we're not telling you what machine to buy right off the bat, then maybe I'll see you someday behind the counter of a 7-11 at 3AM selling me gas because I'll be on my way home from working a tattoo convention and you'll be wishing you took this advice instead of getting minimum wage for shlepping lottery tickets and coffee because you were too impatient to do something the right way.
First of all, I would like to point out that there is a difference between this site, the people who run this site, and the people who post on this site. No one who works for TattooNOW has ever said anything negative to you. I am sorry that you have been getting grief from the posts on this site lately, but perhaps it is in the way that you have been presenting your question, or in the way that you react to the response. I would also like to point out that if you have been following any of the other posts, you might notice that many of the other responses are a little over the top as well. For some reason in the past few weeks people have been blowing things way out of proportion and not knowing when to let things go. There are jokes, there are good jokes, and then there's knowing when enough is enough and it is no longer amusing. Try not to take it so personally when you get a less than favorable response. My advice to you: relax! take a deep breath, stay in school, graduate from at least high school having taken as many art courses as possible to bullk up your portfolio, ask artists how and when they first became interested in tattooing and what they did to prepare themselves for it, and try not to take is so personally when people give you a hard time - try to see it from their point of view and just laugh it off. Good luck, Maggie TattooNOW
Well, you certianly havnt made a friend out of the guy who runs TattooNOW.... I dont care if you are a young one or not, dont let the door hit you on the way out asshole.
I'd agree there must have been a full moon or something over the past week or two, a lot of short fuses and all, but TattooNow is a pretty cool place with it's own unique flavor and candor. As for you mr. 15yrs, if you didn't like the answers you got, try asking different questions... Like you said, you're only 15, here's a tip...The industry seems to put up a hardass exterior to dissuade the simply curious. Learn to ignore others "attitudes" and look for the wisdom and underlying message behind their words. Some people refer to this as growing a thick skin...I think of it as having a 'filtering' ear. It's a skill that will help you whatever field you go into...
I apologize for swearing. But I didnt really like reading that subject first thing in the morning. The thing to keep in mind when your 15 is you need to learn as fast as you can, and things that will get you far are beinging humble, listening very carefully, having patientce, and really listen to what people are saying (not necessarily how they are saying it). Your best bet will be to research the best tattoo artists you like (browse through the tattoos gallery) and make an appointment when you turn 18. till then, focus on drawing truely inspired pieces of work. go to the artists you like links pages and find out who inspires them and read those book and look at that art. Get inspired and draw draw draw and focus on inspiration and quality. then get bad ass tattoos from talented artists. When they see your bad ass portfolio they may just ask why you arnt tattooing yourself. It is a LOT of responsibility to mark someones body for the rest of their life. Tattoo Artists should hold their artwork to a much higher bar before producing it permenently on someones skin. The people who really know if your art is good enough are the artist at the top of their game whom you admire. And lucky for you, the best way to build that relationship is getting a creative custom piece from those artists. Often this proccess will take many years, though there are a zillion stories and a zillion different paths. One story that is consistant from all quality tattoo artists is that paying back the Karma for picking up the "gun" too early is often more costly that having had waiting to be brought in by someone the right way. If you stick around and listen and read through all the old posts on this messageboard and others like it you will hear about and learn quite a bit. Again, I'm sorry for calling you names.
and thanks to the other regulars who gave you good answers on this thread when I had my lapse of reason... heh...
