Does laser tattoo removal hurt?
Laser tattoo removal can hurt, but the pain is usually less when compared to that of other techniques. The sensation of laser removal has been compared to that of small drops of popping grease or the snap of rubber band on your skin. After the procedure, your skin will feel raw; similar to the sensation of sunburn or windburn. Many clinics also offer a topical anesthetic or injections of local anesthetic, but many people find anesthesia unnecessary.
How long does laser tattoo removal take? How many treatments are necessary?
These figures depend on a number of factors -- the size of the tattoo, its age, what colors were used, which laser(s) are used, your skin type, your own natural healing process, etc. Most treatments take anywhere from a matter of minutes to 2 hours. Results are not immediate; after the treatment, the tattoo fades over a series of weeks to months. One month intervals between treatments are common. Most tattoos require between 3 and 8 treatments. Some tattoos may require more treatments. Your specialist will be able to give you a good idea of how many treatments you will need. Most tattoos are significantly reduced after the first treatment.
What are the success rates of laser tattoo removal?
Laser removal has an excellent track record. Since each tattoo is unique, no clinic can guarantee 100% success. Success depends on many factors including the colors in the tattoo, the age of the tattoo, and whether it was done by a professional artist. People with lighter skin types usually have better results. A physician who specializes in tattoo removal will be able to give you an idea of what results you can realistically expect.
What risks are associated with laser tattoo removal?
There are risks associated with virtually every medical procedure. Fortunately, laser removal is relatively safe Most tattoos are removed with little or no scarring. The risk of infection is extremely low if you follow your doctor’s instructions after treatment. There is also a slight risk of hyperpigmentation (the skin in the affected area becoming darker than usual) or hypopigmentation (the skin in the affected area becoming lighter than usual. To improve your chances and reduce your risks, it is important to have your removal performed at a reputable clinic, with trained medical professionals, and well-maintained equipment. Remember: The most important precaution to take is to make sure that you have a dermatologic surgeon or other licensed doctor perform this procedure.
How much does laser tattoo removal cost?
The cost of laser tattoo removal is variable, depending on the size, color(s), and complexity of the tattoo. Prices generally start at around $100-150 per square inch per treatment. To find out how much removal of your tattoo might cost, you should consult with a clinic that performs tattoo removal.
How long is the average recovery time?
Whether it’s your first or last treatment, you should be able to go back to your daily activities right away. You need to follow your physician’s instructions (such as keeping the treated area out of the sun and refraining from violently moving that part of your body) to ensure proper healing.
I wen't to www.immortalimagestattoo.com i paid 150.00 per session..I had some black n grey work hit on two seperate ocassions, and their considerably lighter..Up in the northeast, you will pay 300.00 per treatment..I drove down to N.Carolina, because i heard that immortalimages did a good job,and i seen some tattoos that they lightened on a tattooer from another shop in N.Carolina..
A shop girl at Macdougal tattoo,in NYC,said she wen't to
smoothlaser.com they charge like 300.00 for a tattoo the size of an orange...It seems like alot of places are doing laser work, but be carefull who you go to...Call some tattoo shop's in your area, and ask the artists if they can recommend a good place to go to..
