Tattoos + Nerve/Muscle reaction

Here's the deal...I sat for about 4 hours a couple nights ago, getting a really beautiful collaborative piece on my ribs. We got the outline done and a bit of color; it should be done after one more session. The pain was pretty intense at times, but not unbearable. The position I had to lay in, with my arm raised above my head, left my arm really numb (coupled with the drilling on my ribs). Now I can't really raise my arm laterally; it doesn't hurt, it just feels tingly and like dead weight! I'm just curious if anyone else has had similar experiences, and how long it lasts. I have a half sleeve, and the first session of that did a similar thing with my hand...I couldn't really make a fist, but this went away after a few days or so. It seems like my nerves are just reacting to the hours of work and the position I was in. Any suggestions/help is appreciated!
