I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo probably on my hip or along my ribs, and I wanted to know if the tattoo will shrink or expand if I lose or gain weight. I know that tattoos can get out of form around the stomach or even the groin after pregnancy, but I wanted to know the specifics about the hip or on the side where my ribs are.
tattoos shrinking/expanding

It doesn't always affect every person the same way; some girls give birth and in 3 weeks they look like they've never been pregnant, and others, well, not exactly the case. Alot of it is genetics too. I've seen girs that got pregnant and after the baby, their tattoo on their belly looked fantastic, but I've also see girls with tattoos on the stomach and after their pregnancy, their body went back to looking great before but the tattoo was stretched during the pregnancy and permanantly distorted. The truth is, there is no way to know how your body will alter after your pregnancy until you go through with it, and since tattoos may be a concern, you might want to re-think the location. It sounds like you're already exploring the possibilities and that's a good sign that you're looking to think this out thoroughly, and I commend you for that.
Yeah! What he said!....sick Taz
thanks for the help, i'll try to get it in a place that will have the least action of shrinking or expanding!
I had a tattoo done on the inner side of my leg near my knee just cause i wanted it to be out of view because the casinos arent to tattoo friendly. Anyways its a butterfly and when I walk it expands. I call it my flying butterfly. I didnt really think about that and then again the tattoo artist didnt mention that i could do that. Good thing I didnt get a tattoo on my stomach before I had kids cause pregnancy didnt treat me well I would hate to see what it would look like now if I had.
