Hey was also looking for sanskrit ...came across this website has a whole 200 page dictionary on it check it out!
http://sanskrit.gde.to/dict/dictall.pdf
Thats the actual dictionary link.
Hope you find what your looking for!::::
attention idiots. ok i realize you think this is cool. i'll save you my speech on how stupid this is but, i speak a decent amount of the closest living language to sanskrit. you can't just look in a dictionary and put two words together. there are genders and many other factors that go into how words are combined. you should be looking for professional translators, not online dictionaries.
which one of you tattoo artists have had to tattoo a lotus flower? this seems to me like the fairy and the koi, SO overdone (but i can appreciate a good koi) i just want to know what to expect. so i can learn to "love" these little things. I hate flowers. except roses. fucking lotus. OMN OMN OMN
Bob,
Those of use that do speak a foreign language know this, those that don't are destined to learn the hard way.... But I'm not about to have a class on sentence and word structure on a tattoo forum. Just simply pointing another member of a growing flock of "do you know any one who can" down to the corral.
Kooch,
You might as well get use to the lotus's being around for a while. It might as well be catergorized with the playboy bunny.
Every time the question of translation rears its ugly head, I flash on an episode about 10 years ago which may be illuminating. Long story short...had a Japanese student staying at my place & had a magazine with Spice Girl Mel C (that's Sporty to those who care) on the cover...she's showing off her kanjii tattoo which purports to read "Girl Power"...I ask Miki what's up with that...Miki shrugs and say that one symbol means "girl" and the other "power"...but that it doesn't mean "Girl Power"...I ask what it means....another shrug and a semi-amused/semi-disgusted snort..."Doesn't mean anything"...hard to read the Japanese people, but I got the feeling that she felt it translated to "Dumb White Slapper".
^^ haha. isn't sporty the gay one with the gap teeth?
