J.Capobianco Terrors on the Track are Talented, Too The Los Angeles Derby Dolls Host a Benefit ‘Silent?Art Auction: Fine Art for Fine Women LOS ANGELES, June 9 ?Los Angeles' fierce and feisty all-girl Roller Derby League, the Derby Dolls, is showing another side of itself by hosting an evening of fine art and music at the Ultrastar Gallery in Hollywood. But, despite the cultural nature of this fundraiser, Dolls will be present, so this promises to be an event where the ONLY thing 'silent' is the auction. The soiree begins at 8 p.m. -- mingle with the Dolls and local artists while previewing the artwork. Bidding, chatting and drinking while grooving to the music will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight. The lucky and sure-to-be delighted winners of the auction will be announced between 12:15 and 12:30 a.m. Throughout the evening, KXLU D.J. Reverand Dan will spin tunes to delight you and a cash bar will provide libations to help loosen those tongues, inhibitions and wallets. For those who love the idea of roller derby, but are afraid to pit themselves against these Dolls who normally dish out bruises, broken bones and busted teeth, this is the perfect opportunity to compete and win without getting hurt.
