Text Bleeding Together

5 messages · last activity 11/9/2005

I would like to get the words, "In Memoriam" across my left wrist (the bottom only, not around) in a sort of script font or gothic text. I went to a tattoo parlor in Vegas and they said it would bleed and it wouldn't be possible to do. I have recently moved to Boston, and still want this tattoo as it would mean a lot to me. Can I get it without it bleeding together overtime? Any places in Boston where I could get a good job done? Thanks. Sam
PS I saw an earlier forum on here that showed a fireman's prayer tattoo in a forum that covered this that looked like it was on his calve. The forum never really said if it bleeding together would be a problem. Would this bleed together and if so how much, and how long would it take? The tattoo text would have to be no longer than 3 1/4"-3 1/2" Would this work?
Your wrist is not large enough to fit 10 letters in that will hold up in time. It may look great at first but it wont last long. Yes, the lines will expand and get fuzzy, and in that small of an area, it is only a matter of time before they smear together and look bad. If the tattoo is that important to you, definitely consider a different part of the body that will maintain its structure where you can make the letters large enough to do so. If the look of having a word on your wrist is that important to you, I'd suggest a smaller word (if you keep it to 5 letters max, you can get a really nice script or a font with a little detail to it, and not necessarily a simple one to squeeze it in).
Unless of course you're willing to wrap all the way around your wrist, thats a different story, but just remember that going all the way around, it only looks even from one position, when you move and twist your arm, the bones move differently than the skin, and this can cause an uneven appearance in certain positions.
Would I be able to stack the words one on top of the other? As in having the "in" on top then the "memoriam" on the bottom? And any good parlors in boston or close to framingham, MA?
