The bettter Machine....help

26 messages · last activity 5/2/2010

I've been looking for a light machine that runs smooth. I've seen ads for the Swiss machine and the CyberSwash by Craig Wyeth. Has anyone used these or heard of them? I can't find any feedback on these anywhere.
JUST GO TO E-BAY AND PICK A GOOD ONE.
Thanks but I know where I can get them. I just don't know if they are any good. I don't know anyone who has used them
chances are if you need t ask you shouldnt. What "shop" do you work at. Im sure the guy you apprenticed under can tell you whats good
OK...one last time. since people want the life story first. I am a guest tatoo artis at a shop in Germany (I'm military) I will be working full time as soon as I get out. I am asking about these machines because I have only seen them on the net, and nobody in the shop has heard of them. So please, anyone who has used or heard of these machines could you help me out? Thanks
it's tough to get a straight answer from a tattoo artist. part of the problem is that they don't want anyone finding out that what they do is nowhere near as hard as they would like you to believe. as for machines, it's a goddam needle!!!! if you pay anymore than 150 bones for one, then you are either a collector of fine machines, or a sucker. i have no bones about someone buying a nice expensive custom built machine if they love them, but you don't need it. if any tattoo artist came into my shop with the attitude some of you guys have, i would render him unconscious and fill his eyesockets full of piss.
I don't know who you are, but you rock.
Jackie, if you cant find feedback anywhere that should answer you question. The reason we dont talk technical on a public forum is because you dont know who will give you an answer... Like the advice you seemed to have gotten and liked, its pretty bad in my opinion. I'd love to see the work he produces, cause in the end the proof is in the pudding. Seriously, you should be asking the very talented people tattooing you about quality equipment, not people in public forums.
Don't need a nice well made custome built machine , no . you could use a sharpened piece of bone on a stick with a tack hammer, it's been done and still is. NOT using high quality machines or "tools of the trade " rather is something i'd frown on. Like using a butter knife for a flathead screwdriver. I also don't think it's fair to downplay the skill and knowledge , not only of your art , but the tools you're using to produce the art. Rather rude response I believe , and if I walked into a shop and heard you talking to me or any other client that way , to hell with pissing in your eye sockets , i'm walking next door and dropping some cash in the next man's. I learned on a kaaplan aluminum , light tiny worth every bit of what I paid for it. But I also think , if you don't know how to build a machine ( not simply take it apart and put it back together) then you can't tell one guy from the next what the better machine is. Do some studying, what size caps , what's the alloy compound, fully adjustable or plug and play? You'll hear about this machien and that machine a million times over and everyone's going to have a preferrence for sure, but you'll also hear alot about how the machine alot of people like most is the one they made themselves. Or the one that they know to be made well because they have an understanding of what makes a good machine , in my opinion a good or even great machien is one made with high quality parts and tuned specifically for the individual using it , by the individual using it. Or you can just ordera chrome butter knife and pee in eye sockets.
no one said jack about sharpened bones, tackhammers, dixiechicks, or chronic obstructive bowel disease or any of the other ridiculous irrelevent things you just spewed. i said that a $150 machine is more than adequate unless you are a collector. is this in anyway unclear? i suspect you may be a mongoloid, so your eyesockets should be able to hold alot of piss. if someone comes on this board looking for help, step up and help them. if the tattoo community truly wants to keep the business clean, then they should go out of their way to make sure questions are answered with good information instead of making snide comments.
Snide comments......perhaps say telling people of your desire to piss in their eye sockets. Its always good fun when the pot calls the kettle black. Im by no means tattoo artist yet but ive heard of tons and tons of artists who use pulse machines. Which i believe sell for close to $300. So i guess all these artists could really use your help cause apparently there stupid enough to think that there making a good investment.
you, you're special, i think i'll piss in your ear.
Thanks for proving my point
Oh and im personally fascinated to find out which $150 machines your buying that apparently blow all else out of the water. and after reading the breadth of your posts your inexplicably all for sharing information with any and everyone
another blessed idiot. no one said anything about a $150 macine blowing anything else out of the water. reading comprehension on this board?? D-!!!!!!
Id like to see the work yer doing... And giving people info over the internet on how to tattoo is silly, there are way too many people out here who dont know jack but can talk big. Ask the artists you admire what they are using and why when they are tattooing you.. now that sounds like a good way to get good info...
i agree on both sides pulse has some bad ass machines for close to $300. but those machines are set up just the way you want them when you order them tell them how you want it set up and what your want to do with it. when you receive it you can run that thing out of the box no problems. just solid machines. on the other hand if you know how to build and tune your own machine to the ways you like to tattoo then you should be able to set up you own machine meaning either building your own frame or buying one then you build the machine up from there. you can make it how you want like the machine weight, how fast it runs the stroke you want exc. depending on your resources you can build a solid machine with every thing a pulse machine has for under $200 and some time, but allot of people would rather save there time and fork out an extra $100 and just buy one. i my self do have my bought machines but i also have the machines i built myself its just a pride thing i guess i love to show the thing i make off. but i do that with every ting i would rather build or modify it my self rather than go out and buy something.
I leave for just a day, come back, and you're all fighting. It's funny because I never asked what machine would be good for me and I know how to build one. I build aircraft parts for a living! (military) and I tattoo part time. I was only wondering if the swiss or cyberswash was a hunk of shit like the revolution turned out to be. (sound too good to be true) I can't know this if I have never used them, and being located in Gerrmany the artists I know and work with have never heard of them either. Thanks to those who tried to help and others who kept me entertained. Peace
by the way, this site is excellent for ripping off tattoo ideas!!! i hardly even have to think anymore!!! `puts on flame retardant suit`
swing gate -150 bucks NEUMA - 300 bucks some douchebag getting what he deserves in this forum- priceless
you eating the crack of my ass- free you sucking a billygoat through a garden hose-free me shoving my ass down your throat, farting and shooting your left shoe through the third ring of saturn- priceless.
I guess we wont get to see links to your tattoos?
IVE BEEN TATTOOING PROFESSIONALLY FOR 12 YEARS, DURING IN WHICH TIME IVE USED ROTARY, ELECTRO MAGNETIC AND PNEUMATIC, IVE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE LATEST SWASHDRIVE, AND FOUND IT NOTHING BUT A PLEASURE TO USE, IT NOW GETS AS MUCH USE AS MY FAITHFUL MICKY SHARPS, A WORKMATE WHO HAS BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY LONGER THAN I BOUGHT AN ORIGINAL SWASH BACK IN 94, HES RECENTLY PURCHASED A CUSTOM MODEL, AND AGAIN IT GETS A GOOD WORKOUT DAILY.
Bought one of these machines a few weeks ago, just used it tonight used a 13needle mag. girl had nice skin michine seemed very nice. Power seems to be a issue this michine runs well at about 6volts & 2.5 amps much differant from my coil michines.First experance worth the money.
Thanks D1 and Ira!!...BTW, is this Ira from American in Omaha...if so...HI man!
Firstly I am a Tattoo artist of over 25 years experience. Now I believe you asked a question on swashdrive and swiss machines, I have used a swiss machine and found it a good reliable machine especially for outlining. I know several tattooists in their senior years who swear by them. The swashdrive is a machine of unequalled power, if you use magnums they are simply the best. Now that being said I currently don't use either of them, as I have found that a well tuned machine is more comfortable and reliable. Truly mate it al comes down to personal preference, you can go out there and buy 'Professional ' machines of 'reputable' makers and pay excessive amounts, and they are crap...and you can buy relative cheap machines that work quite well. That is not to say that all expensive machines are crap because they are NOT. All I am trying to tell you is don't waste your money because as I always say ..."it aint the machine that creates the art, its the mug hanging onto it" I hope this helps somewhat tattooist's are at best a fickle bunch but don't be afraid to go to different studios and if you are polite ask a few questions.
