try DSL. I think the price is comparable to dial up, and it's less expensive than cable. Or just continue to whine that everything takes so freaking long for you to load, and it goes soooo slow.... :o)

But dsl breaks down MUCH more often than cable....and is normally slower but then again if tTims been using dial up the slowest dsl or cable will seem like it has light speed!!! Anyway I am here!!!!! My name is TAz H8trs!!!!

I found this article in the Air Force Times magazine when I was at work last week. I finally found it online, so I thought I'd share it with you all. A pretty strong message about getting a tattoo from a kitchen magician. Well, at least I think so.... Illegal tattoos cited in infection cases A worrisome superbug seen in prisoners and athletes is also showing up in people who get illegal tattoos, federal health officials said June 22. Forty-four tattoo customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Vermont developed skin infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The infections occurred in 2004 and 2005, and were traced to 13 unlicensed tattoo artists, according to an article in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. These are the first documented cases of tattoo-related MRSA infections, said Mysheika LeMaile-Williams, a doctor and CDC infectious disease investigator who co-authored the report. MRSA is an antibiotic-resistant bacterium that fights off the body’s immune system and destroys tissues. The community-associated variety, seen in the tattoo infections, has been diagnosed in otherwise healthy athletes, military recruits and prison inmates. The skin infections can be transmitted from person to person by contact with draining sores, or through contact with contaminated items or surfaces. MRSA generally causes mild skin infections but in some cases has led to pneumonia, bloodstream infections and a painful, flesh-destroying condition called necrotizing fasciitis. Four of the patients were hospitalized, but all recovered, LeMaile-Williams said. Ohio, Kentucky and Vermont require licensing for tattoo artists, but the individuals cited in the report went to unlicensed artists. Instead of doing the work in tattoo parlors, the body art was done in the homes of the tattooists or the recipients, or even in public places like a park. The tattooists sometimes did not use masks or gloves, did not properly disinfect skin and did not properly clean the equipment. One tattooist used a homemade tattoo gun made from a computer ink-jet cartridge and guitar strings, LeMaile-Williams said. Three f the Ohio tattooists had recently been jailed, she said. The superbug is appearing in locker rooms, homes and many other places where people are in close proximity to each other. — The Associated Press

This probably won't be all that interesting to you, but as we speak, I just stumbled over a Blue folder of my Dad's which is apparently his old Air Force folder, it's got all his promotions, assignments, a photo and shit like that in it... there's all kinds of interesting stuff in here... it's like a gold mine of stuff all dating back to 1964... He never told me any of this. Gonna have to ask about this stuff. He's still alive... Wanna know what was REALLY happening during the cold war? Hee Hee!

This is the same article that Doc gave the link to a couple of weeks ago.....this stuff is scary and from what I understand is mutating rapidly into an even MORE antibiotic resistant strain!!! Just gives us, as professionals, all the more reason to be extra cautious and conscientious and all the more reason for people to be very careful about who they allow to tattoo/pierce them.

Al - Yes, I would like to know, actually. TAz - sorry that it's the same article. I must've missed the link posted by Doc. It just happened to be in the same issue that was talking about tattoo regulations for the services. And how tattoos (in the eyes of some) make service members look less professional. Personally, I don't see what the big fucking deal is. Having ink on my skin is not going to affect how well I can perform my job. But apparently, the AF will turn away possible recruits because of too many tattoos. The Army and the Navy will take them, though. They have the most relaxed of all the policies. Ours is no more than 25% of the exposed body part. Well, anywho... I just went off on a tangent... sorry... :o)

this is a confession of sorts i guess? random and i've said it before. but this is slightly different. kinda. i'm obviously obsessively anti-farsi/arabic/middle eastern tattoos for people who don't have a fucking clue what the meaning is behind it or who want it because it's the trend. however. i don't know if it's the hormones, the heritage, or my crazy tendencies that make me want to hollering and reach through the monitor and shake the shit outta each individual that requests a translation or something of that nature. almost an uncontrollable rage... there's been over 27 threads (yes, i've counted.. i need a life) about translating for tattoos -- the majority for arabic or tibetan. besides being annoying... can't they google it like anyone else would? so there. that's my confession. that's my defense for if/when i spazz out on one of those threads.

saiyge Tattoo Andy is the tattooNOW artist from Sailors and Saints but he is up here at Off The Map part time also . . . . are you looking for a shop to hang in work in or get work at? cause if you are looking to get tattooed we are just about an hour away from waterbury and i highly recommend us LOL although ct is crammed full of amazing artits and its a little state so you can try them all (as long as you have a lot of skin left!)

A little of both actually. My husband has something he needs covered. So for his birthday, I really want to get him something special. Thing is,because its a cover, I want him to be able to go in and consult someone on the ink first. I'm going to try taking up a pool between all of our friends here, and I need a quote on how much it's going to cost. That, and I dont want to just walk in and make an appointment to see some new artist. I want to take our time, look through their portfolio and make sure the person has a good attitude on top of it. No huge ego, No "Kiss my feet" primadonnas. Coming to see you guys would be -wonderful- if I can swing it. My friends are really big on pimping out The Beauty mark out here, but I'm not really sure about them yet.

Had an interesting thing happen today. Saw this sleazeball dude look at my tattoo, and then try to sell me some weed. I felt like punching his fucking lights out. I know that's a bit of a harsh reaction, and I'm not very proud of it, it's just the first time I've been typecast like that. I don't do drugs. Never have, Never will. Just my choice. I don't have anything against people who smoke a little weed now and then, I just won't personally do it. Just my choice. I WILL however throw down and pound a few whatevers down with ya, no doubt about it... which is hypocritical right there, but anyway, there ya go... I don't know why this made me so angry. Guess I gotta take a good look at myself and figure it out. Got any insights??
