I think anyone who wants to put something like that on their back ought to have to write a 3 page dissertation on the meaning of the artwork, and why it is special to them. Include historic significance, sociopolitical ramifications, and just basically why you think it's cool to see women in a degrading position. Then if your paper is good enough, professor Taz or Professor Erlich or somedody will grade it. If you get a B+ or better, you get the art.

See, there are certain situations where this type of thing can be very beautifully done, and really erotic. There is a ton of gorgeous erotica from countries including India, China and specifically Japan going as far back as, hell, recorded human history really, and some really beautiful stuff from Japan 1200-1800s. somehow i missed the one right above my first one...didn't mean to jump off the handle or anything...i just been battling with those issues lately (unhappy with myself, unhappy with what i gotta see every time i go to the movies. As a female I see nothing wrong with this. The female form is a beautiful thing. Whether it is bound, naked, clothed... It should be admired from all aspects. However, I would suggest getting something like this done as a custom tattoo and not from flash. As a parent I would much rather my children watch movies that allow them to see the beauty in the human form rather than violence and killing. Just my 2 cents.... not that it matters

I would not say appropriate. Nor do I allow my children to watch these things. However, I would rather them see that than the murder and violence that takes place in some movies. I would rather explain two people having consenting sex to them than why some woman murdered a child. And yes, I think any sexual act between consenting adults to be a beautiful exploration of the human body. Whether it be male and female or any same sex variety.

I've heard these arguements about women shouldn't be so blatently sexual many times over, but never have I heard it from a beautiful, sexual person. It seems to me that most who are offended by this think they are somehow downgraded by another persons beauty or sensuality. This comes off in most cases as a lil bit of jealousy crossed with some good ole sexual repression. Now that being said I am a married man with a little girl and would never think it good for my little girl to dress like a stripper, nor my wife. But being angry at seeing someone else doing something, or dressing a certain way is in my book usually rooted in some sort of personal issue and needs to be addressed in therapy. No I don't think that public nudity should become the norm because of freedom of expression in ones dress, but I do think that if someone doesn't want to see things that are provacative or sexual they either need to withdraw from social engagement or move to an islamic sharia state. Those por sexually oppressed people force their insecurity on those around them on a level comfortable to most who are stuck in that ole school/out dated belief system. For me I like good ole lude conduct any way I can see it, get it or hear about it as long a child is not involved.

Well, I think my original thoughts that started this whole can of worms had to do with why does the guy want a tied up oriental woman? What does it mean to him? Wether it's beautiful or not, It is a symbol of a man's dominance over someone weaker than himself. If you know anything about Feudal Japan, you know that women, and particularly Geisha, (which is probably what this woman was) weren't exactly in the lifestyle they were in because they were happy to be tied up.
