Looking to get some serious ink done, anyone have suggestions as to where in Toronto, Canada is the best? I want a really good artist who does well with color, its a family crest and needs to be perfect. My friend went to Florida and said Chis Garver of Miami Ink is outstanding but I don't want to do the fly down there and pay the insane prices they ask. The yellow pages here show some spots in the City of Toronto but would like to hear some neutral suggestions. Anyone have any to give me????

Sup dude,I apprentice at Urban Ink Tattoo And Piercing located in the west end of Toronto (highpark/Runnymede area).Check out our website www.urbaninktattoo.com,contact info is all there.
Also Sarah at the shop is almost done a big family crest on a guys rib cage, not sure if its on the site as its in progress but if u come down we should have it on camera.
i'm NOT a tattoo artist, but i've lived in toronto the past four years... and there's TONS of shops. this is my humble opinion, and I'm sure its unfair.... but take a Saturday afternoon and check out portfolios at a few tattoo shops in your area. its pretty eye-opening to go to several shops in succession.
for a portrait, bob tyrrell if you can.
i'm probably going to get my next tattoo at TCB -- one of the only shops where i saw thorough, thick, skilled portfolios from everyone, not just one or two artists.
there's some good artists at Lower East Side in scarborough.. and they have another shop on queen with some of the same artists.....
i probably wouldn't go to much in scarborough, and not Way Cool Scarborough or Way Cool Uptown, though I had some good work done by an artist when he was working at Way Cool on Queen West.. i don't like their attitude there now, though. attitude bothers me, even if a place has talent working there.
Really, though.... there's good artists everywhere, and good shops everywhere (as well as many cruddy shops)... check them out, make sure the shop is good, look at their work, and if they've pulled off several similar pieces to the one you want or they show a level of skill that you're comfortable entrusting your skin to them... i guess that's the litmus test there :)
if you dont mind the drive check out www.sinkin-ink.com
I was in Toronto 2yrs.ago,and checked out some shop's..I really felt comfortable at www.passage.ws The shop had a good vibe to it,and Jay was a good dude to talk to..Bryan just started working there, and does really nice work too.

I met a girl at the mall who had some nice traditional work from Jeff Beckman, from sinkin-ink.com
I am looking in to getting a tattoo at TCB they were recomended to me by a friend apparently there is some one there that specializes in japanesse art.
If any one has any feed back ON TCB please feel free to fill me in
Scott McEwan is probably who you're thinking of. he used to have a website but i don't think its up anymore
I remember that he had a lot of stuff in his portfolio - some non-tattoo stuff as well like graffiti... several artists at that studio had large well-done japanese pieces in their portfolios
Scott is a really good tattooer, and a nice guy..He has some work at
myspace.com/tcbtoronto And Chino who started working there recently is really good with Japanese too..
My aunt owned Passage,no longer, but she ran it for just under 13 years. Its much different now but Jay does sick work still.

Been to Maleific in Miss......good work by Fabian but what a total rip off artist.....Hell book you for three hours, show up a half hour late, dick around with customers for another half hour and still charge the full three....one of the most unclassy places i have ever been...dirtbag heaven...
Pain is Pleasure Tattoos N BodyMods out in RichmondHill has a dope artist by the name of Dave Ramage. His fortay is coverups...but nails out anything you ask for. Worked at Chronic Ink for awhile(old management) than opened his own.
www.wickedtattoos.ca is the website or check the FBpage at Pain is Pleasure Tattoos N BodyMods
