Trade Tattoos

Hi there, I work as a librarian and would like to build a tattoo history /art collection. I am very interested in trade tattoos ( in re tattoo history) and would like to learn more about them. Items that cover the history of trade tattoos would be terrific. I just want to clarify that by trade tattoos I mean those that one would get in re to their respective industry (i.e. lawyer = gavel / scales or journalist = typewriter). The reason I am posting is that I would like to see if anyone here might reccomend a book on trade tattoos. I think it might be a nice supplement to the collection but as an outsider, I know very little about what books are accurate, have good illustrations, etc. Also, most of the books I am able to locate are written by Ph.D's and I would frankly like to avoid that. If you have any reccomendations, I would be very interested. I am especially interested in works that are illustrated.
