Using white over black to add depth and detail

I recently had a script tattoo on my wrist. It’s still healing but I am not very happy with it. The lettering does not look like the original artwork. Where my letters were flowing from a thick to thin line, the tattooist has made the line almost the same thickness throughout the tattoo. It is solid black and looks pretty flat and a little childlike. Is it possible to add white ink in places to add depth and variant to the lines. Also I would like to add length and flow to the lettering which seems to just stop abruptly in places. When the tattoo was finished he told me that he had bruised me, I was a little suspicious and felt that he had gone too deep, I thought that the little dark area was actually ink spread. Is this also coverable or at least disguisable with a white. Hope it make sense. Anyone know of anyone who is good at lettering or fix ups in London England? Thanks for your time.
Eagle..Any tattoo can be covered or fixed...fixed in your case I think...Bruising is fairly normal on the thin skin of the wrist and other areas....nothing to worry about unless it is excessive....Without seeing your tattoo its really impossible to give you an exact answer however it sounds as if your artist just didn't take enough time with your work....But it CAN be fixed.. My suggestion to you would be to find a competent artist to fix your tattoo If you can e-mail me a pic I can tell you more Click on my name above to get my e mail addy... Thanks for your post...TAz
