I WAS RECENTLY HIRED IN TN FOR A GUEST SPOT I LEFT ON SAT THE 13 BLEW MOTOR IN CAR 200 MILES IN TRIP HAD WIFE GET ME TOOK WHAT MONEY I HAD LEFT BOUGHT A BUS TICKET TO THE STUDIO ( ALL AMERICAN TATTOO CLARKSVILLE TN) got home at 11pm and was on bus the 14th (mothers day) at 430am got to tn 750am the 15th.had said boss pick me up take my gear to shop got to bk get a sand and back to motel which i put my last amount of cash towards. boss takes off says see ya later.i show up at shop noon around 2pm i get a tattoo (a rose) older lady very nice client we go through the norm and i perform tattoo take 2 breaks for her.get done with tattoo having a great time go outside to smoke a cig.boss little girl ( NOT A TATTOO ARTIST MIND U) and says rick needs u to call him now! ok i call. he says i dont have room in my shop for a apprentice man!youre done pack up your sh1t and get out you are not to tattoo in my shop you got that.and ill give ya some travel money to help get ya home man sorry it just aint going to work.i ask who mad ethis decision he said mngr and staff did and my work sucked.i blew up was pissed.i asked the mngr what this was about she couldnt even look me in the eye and neither would any of the other 3 artist.and said well thats what rick and us decided.he did not come down and tell me in person all he would say is im not going to argue with u over this.i was give 100 bucks for a 6inch by 3 to 4 inch tattoo on the leg.i screamed this wont even cover my fuck1ng bus fair home! i went back started packing my shizzel and went up front looked short mngr in the eye and told her get that fuck1ng ashole on the fuck1ng phone and see if he wants to buy my mickey sharps shader.she called while shaking and told him that it wasnt even enough to cover bus fair threw me 50 more bucks i grabed it and my machine and said i aint loosing my machine for 50 bucks you ass no thats bus fair.i pack up and got out a artist outside was like where ya going man told her the skivv and she said she saw the work and it was awsome! and wtf was up.i wonder that too richard hired me with my online pro portfolio on this site and called me a apprentice!the crew looked at my personal portfolio and was blown away and couldnt wait to get it up front.i discussed this with richard over the phone and he wished me luck he didnt even pay for my cab to the bus station 8 miles away with a dbl fused back im going to carry my gear ya right!i took all our money for every thing food bills and all because i knew i would make that up and get bills paid in short of a couple weeks.he states also hes been in this buiss for 20 years.20 year pros should not act this way he also owns tattoo technique.and has posted on here watch the adds he makes new ones daily to stay on top!he also never stated he was a artist.please i ask all of u here my friends and fam to not reply to his add i do not wish for this to happen to ANYONE! now i have to play catch up with a ton of back bills. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow dude, that's a pretty trippy story. How is it that a whole shop of people found your work (or perhaps the way you achieved said work) distasteful enough to all not want to see you working there? Maybe use this as a chance to reflect upon the matter a bit more and see if any blame is to fall on you. Were you/are you irratible, unkempt, smelly, loud, any of these things? The very smallest things for you to spot about yourself are usually the most blaring impressions to others. I don't know who's wrong or right, but coming on here and trying to bad mouth a business, surely wont help you find another place quickly. Most of us have been treated poorly at some point in our careers, but ultimately your decissions, hopeful or not, are the only to blame for the way it turned out. Good luck and take heart, eventually we all find our place.

ive muled through the ideas myself over this stinky no i asked the manager what the prob was no one could answer me im a very easy going guy ive talked to other artist that i know and have for some time and these artist hold well over 50 award to there name and my art speaks for itself and it is damm good period. i did notice though when i intoroduced myself i was treated with a cold shoulder.not unusal but i blew it off i was able to get to know all for 2 fucking hours before i tattooed.they could and should have said something. im not bashing anyone im stating the truth that happened and i do not want it to happen to another artist i want them to just take this incident into consideration and use it as a learning experince so that they may avoid these type of incidents. yes it sucked and all but the fact remains i was treated totally unprofessinoal!! caribou as far as loosing the car i never blamed him just a shitty way to start the trip out and like i dont know FUCKING SHIT HAPPENS AND IM NOT FUCKING IGNORANT ENOUGH TO BLAME THAT ON HIM GET A FUCKING GRIP! YOU OF ALL SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO POST THAT SHIT WITH ME.again ive mulled all through my head and i still feel that he did not even come down and look at it he did not look at my personal portfolio.he went with the word of a collector of tattoos not a artis! out of all in the shop i had the most experince! there was one portfolio in there that was better than mine kid is good but he was not there that day.

update all i just found out IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TOO!!! ITS HAPPENED TO OTHERS AND PALM SPRINGS yes i will find a good spot soon im sure.and thanks for the reply folks i take all posted with intent of education and learning and good general info.

Yeah I did a little research and poked around a bit and this is NOT the first time this guy has done this to artists....I know Erlich personally and know that his work is up to snuff and he is a great guy besides...and he is not the kind to make up this kind of thing...I think he has every right to be upset and every right to air his opinion on this forum....as for intimating that he may be smelly and all the other crap...that was just not called for and I take offense at that even if Erlich doesn't.....I have found 2 other artists that were treated the same way by these people....have no idea why they do this but they do... Maybe this guy could post on this forum his reasons for treating an artist so shabbily....especially after hiring him on the strength of his portfolio and making a lot of promises...It is not right!!!...TAz

Taz how could I possibly insinuate that he IS smelly, I don't even know him. I was simply asking him to retrace his steps a bit and see what the source of the confusion was. I think its extremely odd that this owner would be doing this, considering that he has multiple ads for artists up all over the internet, even in the most obscure places. Maybe someone can contact this guy and see what the deal is.

Ya know TRADWHORE (hope ya don't mind me shortening yer name a bit!) I had that same idea but guess what...he won't talk!!!...I could probably try to lie to him to get some info but I just ain't that way...I will say that at LEAST 2 other artists have had bad dealings with him...that and knowing Erlich I suspect something is amiss....Like I said Erlich is not the type to bullshit and if he said thats what happened then as far as I am concerned thats what happened!...And, knowin Erlich, The man is probably lucky that he did this shit over the phone...Erlich just don't play!!! T

...all I was trying to say was that the extra stress and extra expenses relating to transport etc. due to your car blowing up would not be the shop owners responsibility in any case (whether he was being a total jerk or a really nice guy...) Sounds like what went on in the shop was pretty unpleasant and dissapointing... I did get the impression that you were on the justifiable side of this "transaction", but you seemed to give the car and resulting busfare & taxi & lack of sleep issues, etc. a big place in your recounting of the story...as a result, I wrongly focused my attention on that element. I'm very sure you would have been less stressed and/or impacted financially had your car not blown up...and the taste left in your mouth would be that much less unpleasant...that's all I was trying to say...Didn't mean to insult, sometimes I boil things down to so few words in a post that my meaning gets lost.

as far as the car going i didnt care i was planning on getting one with a weeks worth of work minus my motel and eats it was just a flat shitty way to start out is all lol.ive talked to others and replacing bus fair and motel cost to break even and leave with what i arrived with would not be out of the question. taz your right i had to think about this it is probably best that the manager was a girl and he did not show up to do the act as im sure id be in a whole world of shit with the law if that had happened. i do not play well with these matters. its called OLD SCHOOL FOLKS its a way of life for me and the way it is it has been engraved in my soul
