WARNING:CLIENTS IN ST.JOE< MO

28 messages · last activity 6/14/2006

It has come to our attention that there is someone in town doing business as "Tattoos by Jason"...the cards being passed out claim that this so called "artist" is fully licensed and inspected...he is in reality neither licensed in the state of missouri or by the health board of Buchanan County in St Joseph, mo... We have already seen this dudes work and in fact have covered up at least one of his tattoos...he is misrepresenting himself as a licensed, experienced tattoo artist...HE IS NEITHER!! I have NO problem with any one who wants to open shop here or anywhere, but by GOD if I have to be licensed SO DO THEY Why anyone would go to an unlicensed unprofessional hack just to save a few bucks on a tattoo they will wear for the rest of their lives is just beyond me! I can't speak for other shop owners but I for one am instigating a fucking war on these amateur assholes...I will no longer sit by and see people get screwed by these lying bastards..Two other hacks here in town claim to have worked for me and were taught by me when I have never met them. Be warned!!!...If they are tattooing/piercing in their home in St. Joseph, Mo,THEY ARE NOT LICENSED AND IF THEY ARE NOT LICENSED THERE IS PROBABLY A GOOD REASON WAR ON HACKERS IN MISSOURI!!!!!!!!
when I seen the title of this post, I just had to look, knowing its where Taz is located....sorry to hear what those little fucks are doing to your name bro. You know, I carry the same philosophy....smash, ask question, samsh again. just be carefull bro, being a high profile business owner, you are a well known........send a couple of those "clubbie" friends out to find this little shit. I have found its always better to send out a brute squad. But on the other hand, watching a bitch squirm is fun too. Hmmmmmmm.........interesting thought here.....wonder how well an organization called Tattoo Police would do?? I know its a crazy idea, but follow me for a minute...a nomadic group that travels from city to city searching out problematic scratchers and putting an end to them, (for a nominal fee of course). hey maybe A&E could make a show on it......LOL too fuckin funny I know none of what I said is politically correct, but im not politically correct either, and again I am most likely going to piss some little bastard off with my comments. but what the hell, I am a man that is very tired of scratcher wannabe's flooding our industry. Mortis
You know and I know that even as little as 10 years ago punks like this would have been put out of business the "old school" way...hard to tattoo with a couple of broken thumbs...but those days are gone ol Hoss...A friend of mine who works in Anaheim Cali had a shitwad greaseweasel open a "shop" 2 doors down from my friends house in a non commercial residential district and working out of a SHED with no running water in his back yard!...bein a mellow guy he took no action...kind of a live and let live kinda dude ya know...then the punk started tattooin and piercing little 12 and 13 year olds...one kid almost died from an infection...plus he was claiming to have been taught by my friend...well he had taken about all he could but still keeping his head he caught the punk one day outside in the street and quietly explained that if he didn't stop the bullshit he was gonna get fucked up....about an hour later my pal was arrested for "Felony Uttering Terrorist Threats!!!!"....He had to post a $40,000 yes FORTY THOUSAND DOLLAR bond!!....THe charges have since been dropped but now the weasel has a court order that prohibits my friend from going within 500 feet of the punk...and the powers that be will do NOTHING about the illegal tattooing and piercing he does!! Now I have turned away from what once was a life of volence but I am wondering if the old ways were not the best ways...This kind of shit just didn't happen back then. And I know violence and thuggery is not the answer but Goddamn it we gotta do something...Our art is goin down he shitter and it seems like our hands are tied.I don't know ...anyone else have anything to say about this?About how we, the professional artists do things right...we pay our taxes ,we pay for licensing and inspections , we have our autoclaves spore tested and calibrated, we spend ass loads of money to ensure the safety of our clients, we pay huge overheads for nice studios all the while these amateur fucks buy a kit off e-bay and start fucking people up tattooing out of their basements with no training and the authorities who would cut our balls off if our spore tests were a day late won't do a damn thing to stop them...Do we need MORE laws or less?...Do we need some kind of "TATTOO POLICE"? I know you were joking when ya said that but.....I dunno... Let me hear your thoughts...I am about ready to go ballistic and that won't be pretty!...TAz
......
Taz, I can only imagine how pissed u must be regarding this matter! But yuo are right, in this day and age of political correctness, criminals have more rights then the victims do! I think the only thing you can do is to continue posting on forums like this, informing the public on what is really going on. no matter where you are, or when it is.. you will always have people that will go to billy bobs basement just to save a few bucks! (and end up spending more in the long run) If we (the great posters of tattoonow) continue to educate the public, and we can convince one person to stay away from these unsafe people, then we have already made a difference (for the better) towards the great art of tattooing! Once again, Just my opinion! Baker sendz......................
hey i know jason he is a good guy, and he does have a license in mo, you wouldnt know taz you dont even know he last name, you just busting balls and you didnt cover up any of his work, why you always bullshitting.
If you knew him you would know that he is NOT licensed either in the city or the state of mo...BY HIS OWN ADMISSION...There are NO Jasons of ANY last name licensed here...and yes we have covered his "tattoo school" amateur kitchen magician bullshit work. In missouri the state board WILL NOT license anyone working out of their HOUSE....want me to send the regs to ya asshole?
By the way just talked to Josh Richey who wasted six grand at your "school"...he now owns "IN the Flesh "in Arizona...doin good stuff too, but NOt from anything he learned at that bullshit school....its because he got a REAL apprenticeship with a REAL artist and learned the right way. That tell ya anything folks?...Speaks volumes huh?...T
hey man, im just trying to talk like adults you dont have to call me an asshole thats not very nice, im not calling names, but your state will issue a licensce to someone with a out of state licensce. and he doesnt tat out of his house your just saying that. he is handing out cards cuz he plans to open a shop. and when you had that lady call him he didnt admit to anything cuz there is nothing to admit to, it is not against the law to hand out cards. is it? again i think we are just talking here im trying to show you respect plz show me some and dont call names thanks
why are such an angry dude?
Ok Boofy if you want to play nice I will go that way....I was just going on your previous posts...old story ...lets just start fresh.. And NO he has NO missouri license and yes he IS doing tattoos out of his house ...if he is a friend as you say then you should warn him that Robin Rhodes IS investigating him and here in Buchanan county they do not play.....They will press charges and confiscate your equipment...This is NOT bullshit...it is for real... As for him poassing out cards...of course he was doing it to tattoo illegally out of his house...come on.. And I had No one call the dude...It was a client that had seen his cards all over town...she came to me...not the other way around We will not tolerate unlicensed kitchen magicians in this town...if we have to be licensed so does everyone else....There are reasons for inspections and licensing...so in your "school" do you encourage your students to operate illegally...seems to me you are defending the practice....not very professional Boof ol man...T
im glad we are starting fresh taz, and know i am not defending anything, im just giong by what i was told, i guess that is a stupid thing to do. as far as i know he told me he applied for the permit and it is on the way, he told me he does not tattoo out of his house, he also said he printed up cards to get his name out because he was in the process of opening a shop, and no i dont condone tattooing from home. do they issue permits if you have a out of state permit??
No Boofy they will not give anyone a license unless you are in a licensed shop and shops in homes are not allowed Its nice to clear the air and I hope we can keep it that way...T
o i guess he lied to me, he said that he was waiting on his licensce, and that he was issued one because he had one in michigan, sorry to jump in when i shouldnt have.
no prob
hey he told me yesterday he was gonna post on here, so he could defend himself, i guess he changed his mind.
Gee I wonder why?....There IS no defense...Tattooing from your home in Missouri is illegal PERIOD! Tattooing in Missouri without a license is illegal PERIOD! Tattooing in St. Joseph without a city license AND a Tattoo artist card is illegal! PERIOD! So what defense could he possibly come up with? Not only this studio, but ALL the professional studios here and in the area are declaring war on these KItchen Magicians and we won't stop until they are out of business...Underwood beware...you are next!! Get a shop...pay your dues like everyone else...if you refuse we will put you OUT of business!....PERIOD!!!
Ok now a lady friend of this Jason guy keeps calling the shop and saying how horrible we are for busting him out...waa waa!!! Listen if this dude wasn't tryin to tattoo illegally he would not have been outed!!...Do I feel bad?...Hell yes!...I feel bad that we hadn't noticed his business cards before and busted him sooner!!! So Mr. tattoo artist Jason...do your own calling...I'll talk to ya...quit hiding behind others...bite the bullet and get in a shop..PERIOD If I can help ya get started give me a call and I will personally give ya some pointers...I mean that...TAz, Painted Angel Studios

GABE!!!! I FOUND A TROLL!!!! On this particular thread he goes by the name of "Boofy1", aka "[email removed]." On other, more harsh, now recently removed threads he goes by the name of "KEVIN". You know, our sweet friend that made certain allegations about Taz on the 11th that were bad enough that you pulled the thread off the forum.... There is some definite bullshit going on.
Boofy!....who woulda thunk that it would have been you tryin to spread those nasty rumors?....well folks we can see where that crap came from don't we!! And we were gonna be friends!!! This is funny!!
.....
TAz, To the post earlier on about your buddy and the $40,000.00................... Don't give this fucker the courtesy of a warning...................... Just put out the word as you already have, and some crazy fuck will find him and tattoo him with a soldering iron. Our police can't fucking protect us, but will almost certainly always applaud the resourceful citizen who can exact a little frontier justice without leaving reasonable trace evidence of their involvement. Our Pres claims we don't negotiate with terrorist's...............Well GREAT!!!! If it's good enough for him, it should be good enough for the rest of us. You said this asshole was a terrorist........... TCE
Tim I have tried everything over the past few years from educating the public to even going so far as to helping one of these guys get into a shop ( he was /is a damn good artist...just needed a bit of prodding!) one dude was working without a sterilizer...I offered to GIVE him an old, but useable, autoclave....know what he said?..."autoclaves are over rated...I will stick to my toaster oven...its the same as a dry clave!"...That is the kind of mentality we are up against. You know me well enough to know that I always try to encourage people to pursue this art if they are serious and I sincerely try to help them....tattooing has been VERY good to me over the past 3 decades and I consider it a duty to give something back...and I do But all the respect is gone ...respect is a word that no longer means anything...just a word....up to about 10 years ago if you wanted to open shop in a town where there was an existing shop it was common practise to go to the existing studio and introduce yourself and show respect....and if ya did you would not only always get their blessing but make a new friend and ally...we worked TOGETHER ...and if ya didn't show the respect you got a new set of manners handed to you and ya learned respect very quickly!...Back stabbers and price gougers just did not last...they were weeded out the old school way. The All or Nothing guys ,even though they go way overboard on the self advertising thing, are in a way using the old school ways of sticking together and forming a common front. We must all do something and do it soon or this business will be pushin up daisies.Maybe some sort of professional organisation that is proactive in protecting the art and business of tattooing?...I dunno...we will see...T
.....
Well, I don't know about pushing up daisies, but there is a sector of the population who may be unsuspecting victims, and they are the beneficiaries of your efforts. I know from my experiences this year that competent to outstanding professional tattoo artists working in professional studios have no lack of clients. Most grown people are intelligent enough to realize that getting a tattoo is serious business. As you know, I've had enough issues with healing problems and what not, and that was going through a professional studio. At least I had the peace of mind knowing that the work was done in a clean enviroment, and that the difficulties were probably not an infection, or the result of any negligence on the artists part. But time and again you read posts on this forum from people freaking out about possible infections, and I have to wonder how many of them ended up in this predicament by deciding to risk letting one of their hacker pals lay it in on 'em. I hope that somehow you can rally the proper support to finally bring about significant changes in how the law deals with this kind of activity. These turd burgulars are no different than unlicensed and uninsured hack doctors who botch boob jobs and plastic surgeries.................... TCE
When I opened Off the Map I had a talk with the local tattoo studio I respect. Its not really even about an "old school" vs "new school" ways, its a matter of people should get the respect they deserve everywhere.
