WOW! Only half a day has passed us by since the premier of a new reality based tattoo program, and already what, like 4 posts of people wanting to be tattoo artists! Please God tell me this is not the start of yet another influx of people trying to get into the business.
We all know how glamorous the life of even the lowliest of tattooists can be (especialy when viewed thru the wonderful world of TV), but please if your not serious about the trade, Here's an idea, STAY THE HELL OUTTA IT!!!
Now we all know how influential TV can be, Lord knows there's a half assed country full of people raised on the freakin box. But please only the most talented, and serious need apply. The fact that all these posts have been made within like 12 hours of the show being aired, show's just how flippant people are about how they choose to lead there lives.
Here's an idea, when you've gone and spoken to like lets say 25 tattooists, and not one of them is willing to take you on as there apprentice, well there just might be a reason for it. Possibly there are just too damn many tattooists in the area, perhaps the guy doesn't need another tattoo artist, Hell maybe your just not a very good artist. Would you be so willing to get into a business where every day you scar someone for the rest of there lives. And your training was completed by some fella who was willing to take your hard earned cash. Or some guys who can only make a living because the average client really doesn't have a clue as to what makes a good tattoo, and he's been pulling the wool over peoples eye's for the better part of his career.
Listen if you truly want into this business than my advice is to keep at it. If your that serious, than all the slammed doors in your face will just make you more determined. If you can't understand why so many of us who are on this side of the fence are a bit guarded about whom we help, than perhaps this profession just isn't for you.
So keep it up, some of us in the trade make quite a bit of money on correcting the mistakes of others.
Best of luck...

I Fuckin love this guy!!! hahaha, nice last line.
Actually I had no idea that there was any tattoo-based reality show out there. I seldom watch TV never mind "reality" shows....My life is "real" enough thank you very much.
yeah, it's pretty sad that there's a fucking stigma attached to everything that happens on television. I hate television...
Joe I agree with you about a lot of people wanting to be in this side of the fence but when they see that is not as easy to do a good tattoo, then when they get hit or even beat by an angry client then they will see I seen people with some bad tattoo and hey like you say some of us make a good living doing cover ups from people like that. I don't want to tell people not to fallow their dreams if this is really their dream but watch out what you ask for your dream can turn into a bad dream if you don't learn from a good artist I used to live in Willimantic CT and I got to see a lot of people there walking with tattoos from people that did bragg about how good their work was and that is how I got my new cars and house by fixing those tattoos so bad tattoo will always be coming up and Joe I guess we will be fixing them and making a good amount of money. I loved your last line. Take care and tell all the guy in New Heaven that Chino tattoo says hi. See you soon bro.
