what to draw

Hey I was wondering what tattoo artists are looking for in a portfolio when someone is hoping to be an apprentice

you need art works.. as many as possible.. any kind.. painting.. drawing.. sculpting.. you neeed to under stand how to make a image the rite way.. you know, like the way light falls on the subject.. the way you use colors.. you know... you gotta be an artist man... and that still wont make a good tattooer.. lol good luck man....
