hey so i am looking for an apprenticeship and i am just really concerned about a few things, the tattoo shop that i have here offered it to me for $1700 and thats including the starter kit. but he told me that most places would charge $5000 just for the apprenticeship.so i dont really know if he is just giving me a deal cuz he has been tattooing me for the last 6 years, or because he is not a liscenced teacher and would just rather get the money from me and then frig off! so if there is anyone out there who is in the Barrie-Toronto area and knows any good places i couold go to get my apprenticeship, and just let me know, that would be great, email me or just reply on [email removed] thanks guys
Tattoo schools are bad, period. Lets see some of your artwork and we will see how we can help!
I am really interested in getting my apprenticeship, so if you can help me that would be great!! email me [email removed] thanks!
Lets see some of your artwork. Do you have a website/myspace/something online?
i am putting my drawings on myspace as soon as i can get my scanner to work. would it be easier to talk to my tattoo artist here to see if he can give me my apprenticeship? or should i look around? do you offer anything??
Do you know dez?He might be a good mentor...............and it has a toenail on the end.
do i dont know who Dez is... i just want to tattoo!!! haha
It all depends on your art. The trick isnt finding a mentor to teach you, the trick is finding a good teacher who will tech yout he right way. The key is your art. You will get the mentor you deserve by from the quality of your portfolio and character. If you always work to better yourself and your art, and get tattooed by the best, then you will find the right way in. Now get that scanner plugged in and lets see some pics! How long have you been drawing?
i have been drawing more detailed stuff for about 5 years now. i usually like to draw something a little more cartoon like. i like anamia (spelling?) i do have artwork on people already, i even have one on myself and my bestfriend. i spend atleast 6 hours of my day, sitting there and drawing whatever comes to my head! people who see my stuff usually come to me and ask me to draw them something to get as a tattoo and some people go through with it.
Hey Im in the same boat as you been wanting to tattoo for 9 years and every place I ask they look at me like im a jerk for even bringing it up been to some art school and realism workshops over the years and have never even been offered the option of apprenticeship I would really appreciate if you could let me know were you were offered the apprenticeship I can pay the 5000 for the instruction so If you can give a fellow artist the leg up I would really appreciate it p.s Im not doing this right so how did you bring the subject up
