I don't doubt the fact that if the opportunity presented itself that it is likely there are some heads rolling around town right now. Although I haven't heard anything on the police scanners here at work.... then again the funeral was a few hours before I had to be at work....

Short story: I was picked to participate in a change of command ceremony a couple of years ago. There's one part of the change of command where the chaplain gives like a benediction or prayer type thing. We were all supposed to bow our heads in unison and shit for the prayer. Me, being the asshole that I can be sometimes be, asked if I had to bow my head, since I didn't believe in god. A few people just looked at me weird. One guy actually said to me 'How are you in the military if you don't believe in god?' I just replied 'I didn't know it was a prerequisite'. Can you believe the gall of some people? I know that's not a major insult, but it still pissed me off. And slightly off the subject, but still pertaining to the fact that this country is getting divided and weird and shit.. Last week while I was on vacay out in Utah, I saw a billboard with a sun on it that had the words "Hi! I'm giving your kids skin cancer" What the fuck kind of advertising is that? As if todays generation of children aren't already television addicted, non exercising, stay indoors all day and be pandered to because if they get disciplined they'll report their parents for child abuse little shits. Let's scare them out of wanting to go outdoors and actually be active even more. That billboard just pisses me off to no end...

Hey Tim, just read in the paper that a Rev. in a town not to far away from here just got thrown in jail for bouncing a bogus $50,000 that he claimed was an insurance settlement. He is also not a legal American citizen, and has borrowed an unspecified amount of money from parishioners at other churches that he has belonged to. It also went on to state that he was apart of Westboro church..... Money and power.... you said it.....

Now some of you seem to be catching on, it's become mostly two-faced bullshit, money over morals, fuck who it hurts-as long as we make a big profit from it, free speech for any pinhead with an opinion-damn how contrary to public acceptance, etc., etc., and it's ruining this country, our kids and even how the rest of the world thinks of us. I would have hit them so hard, and so fast that the goal would be not ONE SINGLE US CASUALTY. Then, when the smoke cleared I'd have said "Well, wherever the fuck he was, he's dead now.... Now, friends and neighbors, I want every one of his leutinants right the fuck down to his shoeshiner, or your fate will be the same. You have 24 hours to comply. theval, My antithesis to your story about the billboard would be that it was simply a public service message...................Many parents of young children don't give a second thought to what kind of danger sun exposure presents. It only takes one good sunburn in a lifetime to predispose an individual to skin cancer...................but a child doesn't know that, and apparently some parents need to be told as well. Ever seen an infant that looks like a boiled lobster, shrieking in agony as secondary efforts are made to quell it's pain? It's something that could have been avoided all together if the parent's (who probably shouldn't have been) had had half a brain in their heads. My this is comforting, to know I'm not the only one whose noticing this shit, but, actually, I already knew that as it's a freguent subject that comes up with people I tattoo. I think more and more people are finally starting to see what's really going on, especially when it's starting to actually effect them personally. I'm up here in Michigan, in an area that USED to have lots of decent paying jobs, many of 'em with the auto industry, others who worked for the places who supplied the car industry. you didn't need a fancy education, if you were willing to work hard (well, not THAT hard) you could make a decent wage and support your family and still have money over for your 'toys'.Now this area has the nations highest unemployement, as so many of the jobs are being shipped to different countries where the corp. can make a higher profit, ignore any ecology issues, don't allow unions, put our fellow citizens out of jobs that are NOT coming back to this area. So they put another American out of work, took away his ability to support his family, and give that job to someone who will work for $3.50 a day, cuz that's big bucks TO HIM/HER. but ya notice, the product hasn't got any cheaper when those who still have a job go to the store/dealship, whatever to buy it. When a guy is out of work long enough it eats at him,spousal abuse and child abuse go up, so do other crimes of violence, alcoholism increases as does that drug use. Those with jobs start to fear those who don't and are usually the victims of those crimes. And I've been around, known some of the people effected, some who resorted to crime -not out of laziness or just being morally flawed- but of desperation and some who ended up in prison as a result and seeing how much more that tore up the families involved. Damn it, many of those people used to be hard working, law abiding citizens. We have more and more HOMELESS FAMILIES, again most of which USED to be working. I never used to think about politics, I've known it's mostly bullshit for years so I did not worry too much what those assholes were doing. But eventually it dawns on you that what their doing DOES matter, DOES effect YOU so you start paying more attention. That's when the people who have an IQ above room temperature start noticing there's something wrong , really wrong with the present way of doing things 'politically', especialy with all the Washington scandals, politions busted for wrong doing (at the tax-payers expence mind you), big Oil companies having the obsene "record profits in a quarter'-billions of dollars in PROFIT) and causing some working class folks try to decide whether to buy food for their family OR put gas in the car so he can get to work so he can pay his bills, some fearing they too will get that 'pink (dismissal)note', job security has become a myth. I too certainly think the money being 'wasted' in Iraq could far better been spent HERE, making OUR streets and homes safer, creating jobs, keeping jobs in THIS country. Anyone remember that NAFTA bullshit they enacted- and you can bet your ass some well paid from the git polititions made some big bucks from that, probably still are. This SHIT ain't what this Country is supposed to be about-plain and simple. Again, it did NOT used to be like this! But I still agree with bro Taz, I still think we got the greatest country in the world,some of the most good hearted, compasionate people on the planet and there's NO country on Earth where people have as many freedoms, people actually have RIGHTS, women too have rights (in some other countrries they have few-if any) I came to this country when I was 2 1/2, got into American History big time, thought (remember I'm part Sicilian and raised Sicilian) and I thought it so great that a bunch of people got together and decided to form a country with a government 'by the people, for the people' and even had the dedication to put their lives on the line to fight for it. That's part of 'why' I went into the Marine Corp(watch it TCE) and volunteered for Viet Nam, I wanted to 'give back' to the wonderful country that I think of my home and gave my family members who moved here opportunities they never had in the 'old country'. I can also remember the proud looks on their faces when they became citizens-something aLOT of the people coming here NOW do not do, aren't even interested in doing, they just want the benefits they can get (at the cost to the taxpayers mind you) Meanwhile, the assholes our tax dollars pay their high salary, allow it/condone it and even pass laws to allow it. Is it just me that wonders just when it was that these assholes forgot that they work for US, WE"RE supposedly the Boss, NOT them...Doc
