Hey random forum goers, have you noticed how much Taz and Enigma23 are on here? Almost every post has their tag in it...hm, how is it the worlds greatest tattoo artists can find the time in between all their customers to come on here and read every single post and reply???And then when you ask a question you get shit banged left and right by the self rightous...a girl had posted on one of the threads about how you're not born tattooing it is something to be learned and taught. Well the same goes for those of us who are not tattooing but rather being tattooed. To get a good quality tattoo you must research more than just ink, and the artist, there are alot of you artists on here that post some really great information and I want to say thank you for taking the time. The rest of you need to get out more...get laid, or better yet, pet yer CAT! Ç¿Ç

Just a tip fellahs, makeing fun of someone for not knowing who the semi-regular troll on this forum is really does make it seem like you are spending too much time here, but I certainly wouldn't make fun of someone for spending lots of time on my website either... I agree with Gabe. Taz, from what I've read on here, you seem to be a good man with a good heart, so I'm not trying to be confrontational. But with the number of posts you have answered you come across as being the resident expert on here. You have called out several others to see their work but we never see any of yours. I think it would help alot of these arguments if you posted some work.

I read through most of this post and didn't get that some guy was insulting Taz. I seriously think it would be a good thing if people would work a little on their communication skills. The impact is completely lost when a college prof is reading your post and can't figure out that you are trying to be witty and insulting. C'mon. You can do better. Taz, that last comment wasn't you. Spaidit, yes you did send me a site to see your attempts at artwork, I was not in the least impressed, and I am simply being totally honest and based on over 40 years in this art and have been drawing for over 50 years. I'd be quite willing to point out the various faults in your drawings, one by one if you wish. I am not merely being 'mean', your drawings are amatuerish at best on so many levels. If you wish, I'll post the link to your portfolio and let people seem for themselves. Bear in mind, I AM an ARTIST, I can draw and draw damn well, SHOULD, been doing it for over 50 years. I have an eye for detail honed on experience and to some kickass technigues in Art that wasn't even 'known about' 20 years ago, at least, not on skin. Much of the kickass tattooing being done today would have been considered impossible years ago but it's reality (sometimes) today. I've seen my far share of people who say they are 'artist', some indeed were and are, some simply were not and probably never would be. Hell, when I first got started there was hardly any such thing as 'custom work' and very few tattooers who would be considered 'Tattoo Artist' by today's 'standards'. My point is I've seen a lot of good art, I've also seen a lot of what some no talent imatator tries to pass of as 'artwork'. Your 'artwork' is substandard, take my word for it or challenge me on it, I'll post the site for others to view/comment on. Oh, yeah, and if you (or anyone for that matter) should wish to challenge me on my qualifications/artwork-tattoos, I'd be proud to oblige you, just let me know the best/easiest way and it will be done, I have years of my drawings and years of photos of tattoos I've done and could scan/put up. I THINK what I'm reading is that some guy is insulting you, but I can't really tell, because either I'm on so many drugs, or something about the writing is just amiss... have I lost it? Spaidit, I really understand where doc is coming from. You are being very difficult to figure out, but I think that's what makes this pretty simple. Do you feel insulted? Do you dislike the people on this forum? That's fine, you're very well entitled to your opinion, but the bitterness and disrespect you are displaying for the artists on this forum is rediculous. Go the fuck away if you don't like it, it's really that simple...you know, click that little x in the top right hand corner of the window. I've come on this forum and I've received wonderful information from every one of these guys. Not once have they been patronizing to me, and you know why? the infant seriously is pretty good. honestly im skeptical that you even did it considering what else is up. it looks like youve never even used an eraser. when you fuck up its ok to erase what you did. are theser rough drafts or the final thing? when i first started reallllyyyy trying to get straight lines i went soooo fucking slow and in my head i just repeated shit like "keep it nice and even" or shit like that, coaching myself through long lines. the girls faces arent bad. the wolf face should have been done in two drawings, one of the entire wolf face and then taken to a lightbox and traced what you need inside the paw and redraw it again. it looks like you need alot of work on the fundamentals. straight lines, color concepts. remember not to outline everything you see. and that heart you did is seriously awful. its the simple shit like that you need to do over and over and over again. draw hearts like that to where the paper fills up. different styles different ideas. and then look at everything you did, and redraw it all, perfecting it. again and again and again. and youll get it

Oh.. so it's a wolf.. well.. I will say that that particular composition is not ALL bad.. it's just.. misproportional.. in a big way.. however, I will say.. leave the chinese characters to the experts.. That's one of the worst looking kanji I've ever seen.. and I've seen some pretty awful ones..

If I really tried that's about as good as I am, but I'm not an artist. Some of it isn't half bad (She's good at toons), but others are mediocre at best. With a lot more practice she could get much better I think, but if she's has already had art school she needs to re-study a few things. Like I said though. I'm not an artist, but I am trying to give my honest opinion. I've seen a lot better, but I've also seen a lot worse.

I am sorry but I am having a rather difficult time believing this person went to a reputable 4 year accredited art school. Submitting a portfolio of that work into admissions at a decent college just to be accepted in would be seem bleak. What was her major? Because in all honesty it's not pointing to fine art by the caliber of work I am seeing. Sorry...

Not being an artist my standards of art are probably lower, but I never had even highschool art class. (last I took was 8th grade) None of it was what I would call professional level, but some shows promise IMHO. I've seen what I would call professional level quality before. I don't think this art was complete crap. I did think the toons were ok. On the realistic stuff proportions are off. She needs to spend time outlining over and over drawing people and parts of people. The shading I thought was ok, but still needs a little work, but not quite as much as the proportions.

One more thing, you need to work on symetry a lot.

I asked you what studio you went to to have the tattoo that you said was losing it's outline. And in return you gave me the name of a shop that fixed your fuck-up and a shop you have never been in. SO go on, Honest Engine, where did you get the tattoo that you stated that you had done at a professional shop, by a professional artist, who used Scream Ink, that you wanted to know why the outline wasn't staying? I DON'T WANT THE NAME OF THE SHOP THAT PLAYED "DOCTOR."

C, Have you noticed that the only people on here who get pissed and continue to go on and on about how no one helping them are the hackers who get caught in their lies?

Spaidit, I've got to tell you. I don't want to sound insulting, but I'm a bit concerned that somebody really bailed out on you. If you've had 4 years of College art classes, then you need to seriously talk to your school and see about a refund. I am a College Professor. I am also the Director for the Visual Communication (Art +Design Programs) for 2 Colorado University Campuses. Teaching art is what I do. And, yeah, I can produce too. I've won over a dozen awards for design in as many years. Does that make me the best?? No way. No way. There are kids coming out of College every day that want my job, and if judged on our skills, some of them could even get it! That's the way it SHOULD be. But my concern is that Taz is bang on right when he says there's not a College level piece of work in the bunch here. Do I say this to wipe you out? NO. Am I qualified to judge your work though? Yes. Can I say it's bad art? NO. That's subjective. Can I say you have some serious work to do? Yes. My biggest concern right now is that you may have spent like $60,000 to get to this point. That would not be good, and if I were you, I'd be having a serious talk with this University about their program, because they are supposed to be selling you skills that will get you along in the world, and based on this, you won't get far. If you'd like to tell me which school it is, I'll be happy to research this for you a little...

Is one of those universities in Pueblo and if so, how long have you be associated with it?

Actually, they do have a campus in Pueblo, but they do not have a Design program at that Campus I don't believe. Or if they do, I couldn't tell you if it sucks or rules, because I only deal with the Denver Campuses.

I was wondering because the Peublo campus is where my wife was at for their art program.
