White ink stained by vit E oil?

I had a fabulous tattoo done in late May that I'm in love with. I babied it all through the healing process and slather it with sunscreen any time it's going to be exposed so that I can keep the great colors from fading. And know I'm freaked out that I ruined it :( Last weeked I rubbed some vitamin E oil onto my legs, including over the tattoo. Now the portion of the tattoo that was done in white ink has a weird yellow cast to it. I washed the oil off immediately after applying it because I saw the stain, but it didn't come off. My husband says it looks like the yellow is fading, but I'm not sure he's right. What should I do? Have the white portion reinked? Wait for it to fade? (It's only been 5 days). I know someone's going to say "call your artist", which is what I'll do if it doesn't fade in another week or two. I'm sort of scared to call him and tell him I messed up his amazing work!
white has been known to fade like this and do a yellow or tan fade. nothing you did do to time frame.combination of ink and body chemistry. have artist retouch the white. possibile the needles were not rinsed well enough also.when white was applied. just get a simple touch up throw the artist a tip to cover time and needle exprenses and such.
I agree with Elrich's posted reply...white is one of those funny colors that can change in skin from person to person and it is not uncommon to need to re-ink white. Personally white on me turns creamy yellow...and there is not much I can do about it...I have heard of vitamin E staining skin-but it is usually temporary-it sounds more like you skin adjusting to the color. thanks for the replies :) The color change is definitely from the oil, not my body adjusting to the ink. There are areas of the tattoo that didn't get oil on them because I saw the discoloration as I was dripping the oil onto my leg from the bottle and stopped right away to wash it off. Those areas (also white ink) are fine, just the spots that got oil on them are yellowed. I'm really hoping it wears off, but if it doesn't I'll get it reinked. I'm confused, because vitamin e oil is recommended by some people to help speed the healing process! My tattoo is completely healed, so I REALLY hope I didn't mess it up.
Just in case anyone finds this while googling about a similar problem, I thought I'd post what my artist said. I went in 2 days ago for some touch up work and pointed out the spots that were stained by the oil and he told me that vit e oil can stain skin, so he wasn't suprised that it created a yellow cast on the white ink. He said that it would wear off eventually, but since the tattoo needed touching up, he reinked with white over the stain.
I agree with Jeanne. White NEVER stays white on me.
