WHY IS IT THAT PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK THEY CAN TRADE SEX OR WHAT EVER FOR A TATTOO. THERE IS NO RESPECT FOR OUR LINE OF WORK. MAY BE SOME PEOPLE LIKES THIS I GUESS...
WHY IS IT THAT

I agree with you a million percent, but I do believe that there are just as many, lets just say less than stellar tattoo artists (both ethical and skillful) as there are less than stellar clients, and those artists actually take them up on these offers, ruining the reputation for the rest of us. The same thing can be said for "Why do clients think that they can talk us down on a price?" When the answer is because some artists will allow it. Simple as that.
Some people will try to trade sex or whatever for any good or service...
But maybe there's a correlation between some of the kind of 'marginal' characters who are drawn to get tattoos and try and barter for services (like drugdealers, bikers and prostitutes for instance). Before anyone flips out over this statement I acknowledge that tattoos are no longer limited mainly to these segments of north american society. Maybe the clients who still 'try' to barter are just those entrepreneurs in those 'underground' economies'...Maybe some tattoo shops are set up in neghborhoods where there is a higher percentage of those 'marginal' activities...
That was me...for got to enter my 'name'...
