Hey, Overall, the site could use some work. I would suggest taking off the side with only the Lucky 13 Tattoos. If you do want to keep it, make it so it is just over the width of the letters, leaving most of the page for the text and artwork. Also, i would suggest using a different kind of image for the pics of ur tattoos (.jpg or .gif, .jpg is better, as it does not save it as big and loads a lot quicker). I had some trouble with the images taking a long time to load. Also, give some more information about your pieces. Show your creativity in your website, especially if that is going to be one of the first things people will see. The idea about the background is a great one...and make the thumbnails of the images bigger until you have more there. Maybe even make them similar to the ones on the front of this site, where they are just a small portion of the image? Hope that helps, Ducky
I have been a Web designer for a while...by no means am I an expert, but I have designed quite a few Sites. Also, please take what I say as constructive. I am not putting you or your Site down in any way. Try and not use frames as a basis for your Website.(it looks like you used frames for the design) Too much scrolling has to be done with frames if they are not designed correctly. Come up with some sort of logo that you can incorporate into a banner for the top of your page. By all means, keep it simple!!! People do not like to wait for a page to load just for a bunch of fluff. Remember that the majority of internet users still are using a dial-up connection and 17" square monitors with a resolution of 800x600. Remember to use the lowest resolution you can get by with for fast loading pictures and try and use tiffs for all artwork. Also use a nice font that is pleasing to the eye and easy to read. Steer clear of fancy fonts...most browser will not even support them. There is a huge amount you need to pay attention to when building a Website. Good design and simple navigation are so important. Hope I have not confused you...I am just trying to help. Good luck!! Lee
Ok, its late sunday night so you get bullet points, you gotta take a good web design class to get the explanations behind the points. Colors and design look good except for the flaws. Lose the frames. Very bad technology. Lose the "Splash page". Makeing people wait (and scroll down) to click enter is going to lose a LOT of visitors. Not all thumbnails have a large photo? Image details should have text around them. If Im looking at a tattoo I dont know where you are located without clicking things. newsletter page looks blank...? I like the helpful tips. No links page (linking up is important!). Ok, I think thats it off of the top of my head. You should get the book "Dont make me think". It should be required reading for every web designer. Good luck, and thanks for visiting!
Oh my god thank you all so much! I really didn't expect such helpfull advice. I used a web template and added all the content myself. It was my first attempt at creating a site and I'm glad I didn't do TOO bad. I am taking a computer graphics course and have since learned how to use photoshop so I can fix those big files and thumbnail sizes. I also will be adding new content and will try to keep the info and pics fresh for repeat visitors. Thanks again you guys every bit helps! Lisa
