Andre has been tattooing for many years. His career started in Texas and His travels have taken him across the country, coast to coast, and allowed him to meet, and make many new friends. He specializes in full color cover ups.

He sees no tattoo as impossible, only challenging. Model City Ink sat down with Andre and here's some of the low down..... What is your favorite quote?

Love lasts forever, , , Tattoos last six months longer..... What do you think about the trash talk, bad mouthing, and blasting it seems that every other shop and artist is doing? Well, I don't know much about that.

I mean I am personally more concerned about my growth as an artist and not so much about someone else and their personal life. If an artist has the time to sit around and talk smack then maybe they should draw more so they can get more clients. I've been to some excellent shops in my life, and in places where the client is the golden goose, there was really just no concern about what artist a or artist b is doing.

The concern was always about the art and the flow of the yourself. There will always be some trash talk among Tattoo Artists I guess, but I'm usually too busy to get into it. Who do you look to in your work, like who's style are you into?

For me that would be Mark Mahoney. I dig his work and his story. He's an old school artist who really just loves what he does...

Are you from Alabama? No. I am from the west coast, raised in Texas and consider myself a Texan..

What is your biggest career regret? Not getting back into this full time sooner. Got any advice to a new Tattoo collector?

Yeah, Take your time.... Talk to your artist and ask alot of questions. YOU are the canvas and you do have a voice.

There should never be a moment where you are looking at your new tattoo thinking, Man I don"t like this.. The Artist has input, we guide you on the flow and vibe of the piece in most cases. NEVER let your artist pick you color, theme, or work if you do not want them to.

Take a long look at their art and ink, and above all, see if this person is someone you really want to be 6 inches away from for the next 2, 3, 6, 15 hours. You should always be smiling when you leave after a tattoo session, if you're not. Find another artist...
