Ettore Bechis

My name is Ettore Bechis, I'm a tattoo artist born in Torino Italy, but, by choice, I spent most of last year traveling around the world. After studying as a Graphic designer, I immediately left my town to work in tourist resort as a set designer, and it was an amazing experience that allowed me to travel and meet so many people. Later, in company with my partner, I opened an art studio where we designed sets for Rai and Mediaset television networks and shopping centers.

One day while we were in Brazil for work in 2002, my attention was caught by an advertisement in a local magazine with tattoos: "Kit para Tatuagem" I must admit that I had always been fascinated by tattoos, but the technique for tattooing gave me the impression that it is a complicated and mysterious practice! The temptation was too strong, so I bought the kit and asked advice from a tattoo artist friend. When I returned to Italy, I met Alessandro Doria's "Alessandro Doria Tattoo Studio" in Casale Monferrato, which begins with a fruitful collaboration that let me improve my technique and style.

Between 2007 and 2008 I lived in South Beach (Miami) for six months where I worked at the tattoo studio "MOSH PITT", “INDUSTRY" and “SALVATION TATTOO LOUNGE”. In 2009, after working at the studio "IRON CROSS TATTOO" by Pablo Sela in SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA, for a period of one month and a half, I'm back to "SALVATION TATTOO LOUNGE", 1413 Washington Ave, MIAMI BEACH, FL 33139. In 2010 I decided it was time to open a studio of my own and so, on February 14 I opened “ ABSOLUTION TATTOO LOUNGE, Cantu “(Como).

After opening the Absolution Tattoo Lounge in Italy in 2010 I decided to open a new studio in Miami Beach in april 2014 in partnership with my old friend Alex Zarfati, the studio is called Salvation Tattoo Lounge. I'm very excited to be a guest artist at Off the Map Tattoo, Easthampton this August 15-30!
